Interclub

UC Junior interclub athletes compete against children their age (7-14years) from many other clubs based throughout the Canterbury region. As the season progresses athletes are also graded so that they are competing against children of a similar ability within their age group. Athletes can compete in up to four events (two field & two track events) & a relay each weekend. Interclub is a great way to improve your personal bests (P.B's) & meet or make friends with those from other clubs. We encourage athletes to compete every weekend but this is not a requirement.

Interclub track & field is organised by the Canterbury Children's Athletic Association & takes place every Saturday (late October - early March) between 9:00am-1:00pm. This season interclub is moving to a new home at Rawhiti Domain, New Brighton
Interclub begins at Burnside HS October 15 2011

Interclub Discus Duty

Our club is responsible for running Discus Circle 1 at interclub competiton. This is coordinated through a roster system with each family required to provide one adult on their "duty day" to assist. We also have to provide one adult each week to assist with either timing or judging at the finish line(this duty is usually split between two people). As we have over 40 families doing interclub, you can expect to be "on-duty" only 3 or 4 times throughout the season. If you have a clash on your rostered duty day, it is usually easy to swap dates with another family.

Coaching is available to athletes 7 years of age & older who compete in interclub competition. 7, 8, & 9 Year olds receive coaching once per week while 10-14 year olds can opt for two sessions.
