Welcome to all the new athletes and Parents and welcome back to all existing athletes and parents to the new season.

This week it programme one which will start at 9am with the girls relay, As Shaun has mentioned please be at Rawhiti at about 8.30 for the warm up if you are in one of the relay teams.

You will be able to buy a 2015/2016 Season inter-club Booklet from the control room this Saturday which has all the information about what, how, when things happen though out the season. It also has the do`s and don’ts. This year they are $5.00ea.

If you’re feeling a bit peckish you will also be able to purchase food that other clubs have brought along to sell, prices range between $2 to $4.50. There will also be a couple of coffee carts located at various points at the track.

Those that have their age patches, before you pin them on your Uni top can you please write on the Top of the age patch “CANU” and your name at the bottom. In regards to your numbers, they will be collected on Saturday morning and given out to you all before competition starts. Please don`t go to the control room and ask for them. The ones that are there to “have a go” do not need age patches or numbers for the first two weeks.

Roster for this week so far is

Long Jump Chief: is H. Restieaux

Helpers x 6: Forward, Beagle, Killick, McCusker +2 More

Photo Finish: Christey, Mackay-Stewart

Once we have a confirmed Inter-club list we will be putting together a Roster for the Season.

Duty Club

Next week being the 24th we are the duty club, so we will need all parents that are available to be down at Rawhiti by 8am to help put out the equipment before competition starts at 9am. We will also be required to move equipment around during the day and also putting it away at the end of the day if required. We will also be looking for people to be on the roster for that day as well, so if available please see me on Saturday.

Timaru Trip

As mentioned last night we have two trips to Timaru before Christmas to compete on the all-weather track, the is a good opportunity to try the track out before champs in March. The first one is on the 31st October and the club puts on a 53 seater bus which is subsided by the club but we do charge a small fee, It will be same as last year which was $10 per child and adults will be free.

If you are keen to come on the bus or send your child on the bus alone (normally a good number parents go on the bus, so they will be well looked after) please let me know this Saturday so that I can mark it down, It is a first in first serve basis.

We leave Westburn primary at 7am Sharp on the morning and do a pick up at BP Rolleston at around 7.20am ,   we aim to be in Timaru around 9.15, competition starts at 10am, We leave to come back at around 2.30pm and stop at McDonalds in Ashburton on the way back . We aim to be back at Rolleston BP around 5ish and then Westburn around 5.30pm.

If you plan on travelling down by own transport, please let me know so that we can add you to roster if need be. This trip is always a great day out for kids and parents.

If you have any questions please ask me on Saturday otherwise enjoy the day and the season

Best of all have some fun, Go UnI
